Takedown Procedure
By Nameshield
Have fraudulent websites, phishing pages and illegal content that impersonate your brand removed: Nameshield manages the takedown process from start to finish.
Overview
Detecting a fraudulent domain name is only the first step. What matters is taking swift action to neutralise it, before it causes harm to your customers and your reputation. The Nameshield Remediation Service handles the entire process of suspending and removing illegal content that infringes your trademark.
How it works
For each threat identified, our teams compile a comprehensive dossier of evidence — screenshots, source code, technical details — and then contact the registrar and the hosting provider directly to request that the website be taken down or that the fraudulent content be removed.
Cases handled
- Phishing in website content : identity theft aimed at collecting personal or banking details. The report is supplemented by a submission to anti-phishing databases (Google Safe Browsing, PhishTank), which are used by Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Brave to alert internet users.
- Email phishing : fake messages impersonating your brand to mislead your customers.
- Fake online shops : websites that mimic your environment in order to sell counterfeit goods.
- Identity theft : any other form of fraudulent exploitation of your brand online.
Follow-up and reminders included
If the third parties contacted do not respond, two follow-up reminders are sent over the course of a month. The entire process is monitored in real time via your SaaS platform, with email notifications sent when each case is opened and closed.
