Join Cloud Temple and help shape the future of the European sovereign cloud!
Cloud Temple, a leader in digital sovereignty, helps businesses and public sector bodies to transform, host and outsource their mission-critical applications.
As part of our efforts to strengthen our eight-strong operations team, we are looking for a Kubernetes-focused SysOps/DevOps professional to join a multi-client RUN/MCO squad. This role is set within a demanding operational environment: the environments are varied, sometimes heterogeneous, and require rigour, a sense of priorities and the ability to adapt.
This is not a role focused purely on projects or builds, but rather a position centred on operations, system stability and their continuous improvement over the long term.
The assignment takes place within a real-world production environment, with a significant responsibility for service continuity, which breaks down as follows:
Platform operation and maintenance:
- Operate and maintain Kubernetes clusters in production (updates, node management, monitoring, backups and restores)
- Monitor environments and respond to technical incidents (diagnosis, resolution, escalation where necessary)
- To help reduce recurring incidents and improve overall stability
- Multi-technology environments
Working across a range of areas beyond Kubernetes, depending on client requirements:
- Windows systems (servers, Active Directory, RDS environments) and Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Red Hat)
- VDI solutions (e.g. VMware Horizon)
- Network (DNS, certificates, traffic management, Fortigate-type firewall)
- Understanding and adapting to heterogeneous architectures
- Continuous improvement and enhancing reliability
Identify areas for improvement (stability, performance, maintainability):
- Implement sustainable corrective actions following incidents
- Contribute to the management of technical debt (simplification, standardisation, automation)
- Automation, Observability and Tools
Automating recurring tasks (scripting, Ansible, Terraform):
- Help to set up or improve CI/CD pipelines and GitOps approaches
- Improving the reproducibility and maintainability of environments
- Help set up a practical monitoring and alerting system (Prometheus, Grafana, logs, etc.)
Customer relations and teamwork:
- Interact with customers on technical matters (providing explanations, support and recommendations)
- Work in coordination with internal teams (infrastructure, security, projects)
- To contribute to knowledge-sharing and operational documentation
You will have a degree from an engineering school and, ideally, at least 3 to 5 years’ experience in an IT production environment, working on infrastructure, Cloud and DevOps-related topics.
You have gained practical experience of Kubernetes in a production and operational (RUN) environment, going beyond simply using it in the context of projects or deployments.
You are comfortable working in Linux environments and have a solid grasp of the networking fundamentals required to operate complex infrastructures. You have experience with automation tools and Infrastructure as Code solutions, such as Terraform, Ansible or equivalent, and are able to work effectively in multi-client and multi-technology environments.
As well as technical skills, we place particular importance on interpersonal skills and the quality of our relationships with others. We are looking for a reliable and meticulous individual, capable of working in a systematic manner in demanding operational environments.
Your interpersonal skills, both with clients and within the team, will be essential. We are also looking for someone who is humble, curious and keen to continue learning, whilst being able to take responsibility for their areas of work, follow them up diligently and see tasks through to completion.
This role is particularly suited to someone wishing to join an environment where they can develop, gradually gain greater autonomy and take on more responsibility, whilst working in demanding production environments.
Finally, we would like to welcome someone who is looking for a supportive working environment, where they can build a long-term career, develop their skills and play a full part in the team dynamic.
A keen interest in practical and pragmatic environments, where one is able to deal with the realities on the ground whilst remaining focused on service quality and results, will be particularly valued.
